As the White German's coat is almost an exact replica of that on a German Shepherd, the same routine is required to maintain it. Daily brushing is often recommended if they are a heavy shedder, with a simple 10 minute grooming session sufficing. This will not only remove any dead hairs from the undercoat, but also brush through all the natural oils that the coat produces.
Many White Germans are fed on a high quality diet, purely for coat reasons. Generally, the higher the quality of the dog's food, the better condition their coat will be in and therefore less grooming will need to take place.
White German's appear to Shed their coat almost daily. Regular, daily vacuuming may be required, but most White German owners take this as the only downside to owning this wonderful dog.
