Just like it happens with any abundantly coated dog breed, Grooming becomes a truly important and essential part of the overall care you need to provide it with. In this sense, the West Highland White Terrier is not an exception and even though this dog does not have an extremely long coat, it is always required for you to perform a regular Grooming on it in order to prevent any possible complication.
The West Highland White Terrier is a small dog which is fully covered in an abundant, soft and lustrous White coat. This coat sheds an average amount of hair and this means that there can always be loose hair in the middle. That is why daily brushing and combing this coat is needed: to keep that loose hair away and to give extra shine to the strong hair.
You will also need to keep it clean and that is what a good dog shampoo does. Ask your veterinarian for recommendations but remember that you should not bathe your West Highland White Terrier unless it is necessary. Finally, you will also need to trimm it every once in a while, especially on the parts it grows more abundantly: around the eyes and the ears.
