If you are the proud owner of a Welsh Springer Spaniel, you will want to know all about this wonderful breed. Welsh Springer Spaniel Ears are long. They are also surrounded by a good amount of fur. Because of the Ears lying on top of themselves, and the amount of excess fur around them, they require a little extra care.
Welsh Springer Spaniels are more prone to ear infections than a lot of breeds. For this reason, you will want to try to keep their Ears dry and clean. Make sure that you do weekly checks of their Ears and look for dirt, mites, ticks, and excess fluid.
If your Welsh Springer Spaniel starts to whine for no apparent reason and shaking its head vigorously, this can indicate a possible ear infection and you will want to get your dog looked at by a veterinarian. Another sign of an ear infection is a foul odor coming from the Ears, or scratching at the Ears. If your dog starts walking with its head tilted, this is another sign that it could possibly have an ear infection and should be looked at by your veterinarian.
