They Grey Dog

This silvery grayish breed is one of the most elegant and smart of all. The name comes from the Duke of Weimar who used these dogs for hunting purposes, tracking games and pointing breed.

Weimaraners are elegant, athletic and quite energetic. More than they seem in fact. All the different parts of the dog should be in a perfect balance for the dog to be accepted as a member of the breed.

His nails should be kept short and neat. The tails are sometimes docked at birth because of its natural length. But beware because this practice has recently been considered banned.

The height should be up to 27 inches in males. Females tend to be shorter, 25 inches and they are not supposed to be heavy weighting being 70 pounds the limit.

Though they are completely suitable for house purposes, that is to say, company, they are also looked for , for their abilities as guardian dogs. They require a lot of exercise to keep fit and healthy and for that reason an active, energetic owner is also recommendable. During their adolescence these dogs need a lot of running and training.

As they tend to get excited quite easily these dogs need to be trained by a professional that knows how to make him calm down. Doing it yourself and me be rather exhausting, making you want to give up and stopping the proper training .

Weimaraner is famous because they are prone to suffer from separation anxiety , which makes them want to rejoin their owner and does not allow for separation to occur. With proper training and medication this disorder is easily reduced. Socialization at an early stage can prevent this to a great extent
