Vizsla History

If you are trying to learn about the Vizsla History, you will learn that although not much is known about their exact origins, much is known about their History. They were once kept by Barons and became one of their most treasured possessions. For many years these were the dogs used as companions and hunters.

The Visla has been known as a companion dog for centuries and they have been held in a high regard for a long time. During the 19th century, the Vizsla almost became extinct. It is believed by many that there were only twelve or so Viszlas left in the world. The Vizslas of today are thought of to be from the offspring of these twelve.

After WWII the Vizslas started making their way to America. After America starting taking notice of this loyal breed, they steadily gained popularity and were welcomed into the AKC around 1960. The Vizsla is now becoming recognized more as a good family dog, people are starting to see in them what the Barons saw all of those many years ago, that they are loyal and wonderful dogs.
