Superman has definitely been the most famous superhero of all times and may take him as the prodigious son of comics. This superhero is clearly identified with the United States of America and is one of the only ones that have always been loved by anyone. Even though there have been born lots of other superheroes, Superman has never been neglected and will always fulfill the role of America’s best and most important superhero.
To place this story correctly, we must say that the Superman characters was firstly published by DC comics in 1938, when the first Action Comic magazine was released.
Here we are some Superman characters. Superman is the story of a superhuman creature that is born in the Krypton planet and that is sent to Earth by his parents. Once in this planet, he is found by who will be his adoptive parents in the storyline, Jonathan and Martha Kent, who also rename him as Clark Kent. With this fictional identity, Superman, apart from fighting against the crime with his utterly famous blue and red outfit with the S on the chest, is allowed to share his life with regular human beings and therefore fulfills the role of a successful journalist in the Daily Planet newspaper. It is there where he meets Lois Lane, the woman who will eventually become is love interest and to whom Superman will always be related to.
One of Superman’s most interesting features is that this man is conflicted and troubled by the superhuman powers he has and that make him unique, and by his weaknesses as well, represented mostly in his inability to deal with kryptonite, a green material that has fallen in the Earth due to the destruction of Krypton. Whenever Superman is faced with it, he loses all his strength and powers fade away. Superman’s most important powers are related to his superhuman strength and other abilities such as X-ray vision, so if he loses them due to the confrontation with kryptonite he is not able to help humans against other superhuman threats. Superman is clearly one of the most complex superheroes of all times, with abilities that reach far beyond than any other superhero may reach and with a personality that usually is portrayed as conflicted and somewhat troubled.
Whenever we make any reference to Superman, it is a must to mention all the places in which this character has been portrayed: comic books, films, TV shows, video games, radio, Broadway and even music. He is like the Elvis of the superheroes so it is quite reasonable to expect that much attention.
