Simpsons Characters

It is highly probable that whenever you hear the word “Springfield” you immediately think about one of the most popular cartoons in the history of television: The Simpsons. Yes, because this family has been firstly released to mass audiences in December, 1987 and has since entertained not only children but also young people and adults as well.

This animated TV show has always been characterized by its special and witty irony.

The story takes place in the American city of Springfield, and centers on one special family: The Simpsons, which is composed by five members, with a grandpa, two sisters in law, a dog and a cat completing the picture, each one with different personalities and ways of understanding life. They live their lives through some special points of the city, like the nuclear plant, the canteen, the school, the mini market, the tree house, the geriatric, the police station and the church. In all these places, other characters appear to make their lives even more humoristic and showing the audience that ridiculousness and bureaucracy is everywhere.

They suffer, they laugh at their neighbors, they try to escape routine, they want to have fun, they reminisce old times, they get drunk, they go through crazy situations and get in trouble (like getting lost in the wood, being followed by a crazy former TV showman and now assassin, they go to university, they form a vocal band, they escape from police, and they get lost in the middle of the sea, on an island, they become famous for a day, they have fear to fly, they become part of a sect, and they even travel to Australia to solve a diplomatic mess that have been created by themselves).

They even have Halloween’s specials in which the most frightening stories may come around. All in all, this is the most famous animated American family that TV has ever created and due to their big success they will continue to be so for ages and for generations to come.
