One of the most acclaimed small breed dogs. The origin of its name can be traced back to Germany, Pudel means “to splash about” in old German. He is also known with other names, for example in France or Spain it can be called “caniche” .

Their appearance tends to be one of an elegant, smart dog. There are different sizes of Poodles. The standard size, which can have over 38 cm, the miniature size, over 28 cm and the toy size which is considered under 28cm.

Their coat seems to be soft even though it is curled beautifully, generally in small twists. As their coat is so especial, it will require many treatments, grooming and care in order not to lose its magnificence. To keep it soft and to avoid tangles, it is a good idea to use hair products that are normally used by people.

They are comfortable around people, and they always like to please their masters. For this reason, they make really good companion dogs. And if they have been raised in a family , they will have no problems adapting to children .

They are not difficult in the training area. They are agile, athletic and not at all lazy. They are easily adapted to a routine, and for that same reason it is important to train them with a regular work practice. Otherwise, it may be a little exhausting for them.

As regards care, the most important thing is to look after their coat. To avoid tangles, and to keep it soft and smooth. If you are not able to do it yourself , take him to a proper vet where these services are provided .

Poodles have a tendency to have dental problems. For this reason, it is important to keep an eye on them constantly to avoid problems when they get older.
