Maltese Books

When it comes to toy and tiny dog breeds, Maltese is surely one of the most popular and glamorous ones of the group. These dogs are definitely special and learning all we possibly can about them in order to provide them with a comfortable and happy life is one of the best things we can do. Maltese dogs are not like any other dog: they are delicate and need constant attention.

Each editorial has one or more than just one collection of their own, some of them better and some of them not so good. To begin, we would like to recommend you Guide to Owning a Maltese: Puppy Care, Grooming, Training, History, Health, Breed Standards, by Brandlyn James and published in the year of 1997 by TFH Publications. This is a brief yet useful first insight to this magical breed and through its sixty four pages you will find an accessible amount of information on the subjects already mentioned in the title.

The Maltese: An Owner’s Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet, by Bobbie Linden and published by Howell Book House in 1998 is another great option if you want to have the basics on this breed but without losing the quality of the information. Some of its contents are description of the breed, feeding, grooming and training your Maltese, and an interesting unit in which you will find how you can enjoy these wonderful dogs, apart from an appendix where recommended reading is also added.

You also have the amusing Maltese (Complete Pet Owner’s Manual), written by J. Fulda and Betsy Sikora Siino and printed in the year of 2005 by Barron’s Educational Series. This is a wonderful book if you want to learn about how to deal with your first Maltese, how to understand it and how to take good care of him on a daily basis.

The Maltese: Diminutive Aristocrat is another great option available. Written by Vicki Abbott and published by Howell Book House in 2000, this book will give you an alternative and deeply interesting side of the Maltese story, teaching you how to love these dogs and how to understand they behavior, but also their needs and requirements. By the same author you also have the A New Owner’s Guide to Maltese, published by TFH Publications in 1997 and consisting of over one hundred and fifty pages that will really help you in the process of owning a Maltese.

Finally, The Essential Maltese, written and printed by Howell Book House in 1999, is also a nice option to have the most important information on these truly cute and gorgeous dogs. Through a nice and attractive structure organization and language, this is perhaps the most recommended books for beginners.

Once you have learnt about these great and totally adorable dogs, there will no better thing to do than to love them and enjoy them every single day.
