Leonberger About

The Leonberger is a very large breed of dog with a very recognisable characteristic - a black like mask. The females have a very majestic head whilst the males have a somewhat more feminine head. Their teeth regularly meet up in a tight scissor like bite, making the Leonberger About today very similar to how they did when first bred many years ago.

The Leonberger's black mask should not go above their eyebrows and should cover the complete head. What makes the mask look even darker is the fact that the lips and nose of the Leonberger are also dark black in colour.

Due to the size of the Leonberger's mouth, its gums can somewhat hang over the side of the mouth, causing it to drool slightly. The Leonberger's ears are medium sized and tend to hang downwards.

Leonberger's are a very powerful, dominant and large breed of dog, with the males measuring in height between 28.5 inches to 31.5 inches at the withers and the females measuring approximately 25.5 inches to 29.5 inches at the withers. Both sexes of the Leonberger can weigh, on average, between 80 to 160 pounds.
