Dogs work as a clear analogy to human beings. They are harassed by natural and fearing instincts, and anyway they are capable of the most sympathetic deeds. Besides, in old times there was a blurred division among Gods, dogs and human beings in the Irish tradition. Heroes, for instance, had a divine origin. They were told to come from deities and these were either related to animals and forces of the nature or actual combinations of them. And this was the men genealogy.
