Although it is actually a strong and healthy Dog, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog can sometimes present different health related issues that should be prevented and correctly treated. The Greater Swiss Moutain Dog Care consists of many different things and since this Dog is prone to bone complications, digestive disorders and epilepsy, it is always a sensible idea to take your puppy to the vet in order to run all the needed tests. With them you will be able to prevent such conditions and properly treat them if they finally become present. Remember that sometimes these diseases can become quite serious and sudden.
As for the grooming Care, this breed does not require too much effort. It counts with a short and shinny coat that only requires occasional baths. As for its brushing, it should be constant (every once a week or a couple of days) so as to keep the loose hair away from froming knots and tangling up the entire coat. They do not shed too much hair but it is always important to avoid complications in this sense.
Keeping the nails trimmed and making sure that your Dog's ears and eyes are clear and clean is especially important since these Dogs have tendencies to suffer certain infections in those areas.
