You would surely agree with us when we say that Golden Retriever breed is one of the most fantastic breeds of all time. They are simply lovable and if you look into their eyes you will find the most absolute tenderness and joy. They are deeply interesting dogs to know, so if you let us, we will now give you the basic information on this breed and all the beautiful features that make it so adorable.

To start we should make a little bit of history and in this sense, the Golden Retriever breed is believed to have appeared in the British Isles around the nineteenth century. This breed was obtained out of a combination of different specimens of breeds like spaniels, setters, bloodhounds and other types of retrievers. They were originally bred for hunting purposes but they are today the most family related dogs.

These dogs are recognizable for their long, shiny and soft coat. This coat is dense and can be straight or somewhat wavy and is also water repellent. The chest, front neck, thighs and tail are all parts of the body where the coat gets more abundant. They have a firm undercoat. The Golden Retriever has a medium sized to large sized body, with not too long legs and wide chest. The head is broad and has a somewhat defined stop at the front. Eyes should be dark black or brown, set apart from each other and deep. The ears are pendant and fall at the sides at the head. In all, this is a very well proportioned dog whose gait is quite elegant and joyous. The major health issues you must take into account are hip dysplasia, eye and skin problems or allergies and heart conditions. If treated correctly these affections should not be something to constantly worry about.

The Golden Retriever’s temperament is perhaps one of the most known to regular pet owners since this breed is famous for its permanent happiness. They are easy to train and respond perfectly to orders: obedience is one of their characteristics. They are also pretty active, playful and loving dogs. They need a good amount of exercise but you can have them in an apartment providing you allow them to play and do exercise on a regular basis. In this way, they don’t enjoy being left alone for too long periods of time: they get on great with humans, children and even other dogs or pets. They are innocent, gentle and incredible intelligent. They can even swim! This breed is great for families and kids, but it can also perfectly fulfill working tasks such as rescue, drug detection, guidance dogs for blind or disabled people. Their patience and tenderness will surely make everyone love them.

You can not lose the chance to have a Golden Retriver, Ups! Golden Retriever at home. They will make your days even brighter and you will enjoy every second with them. Don’t you doubt it!
