French bulldogs are one of the most likeable of breeds among bulldogs. Their size and temper make them loveable as well as easy to maintain an take care dogs.

Although well - built and heavy boned, they are relatively small structured dogs. Their size depends a lot on their breed, and in this case they are even shorter than 12 inches.

These small hairy fellows are short, and come in a wide variety of colours, mainly white or brown, though some shades are also possible and not difficult to get at all.

Due to their size they make great dogs for apartments. They do not need a lot of space to run around and they do not have fat issues, so exercise is not a must in their maintenance. However, even though they can get accustomed to the small dimensions of your place, it is a good idea to take them to a park or just to walk around the block at least, because they enjoy running and being on the leash.

They are breed as companion dogs but they also make good guardian dogs. They are really good at watching dogs.

As they are small and they do not have overweight problems, these dogs do not necessarily need exercise every day. But there are some aspects of their daily routine you need to take care of in order not to disregard their health. First of all, their teeth and nails should be periodically checked out. Their cloth needs to be rubbed so as not to make the dog swallow so much hair, and to renew the daily fall of it the coat.

They are obedient and if well trained, they can make really smart, intelligent animals. If you are planning on having a dog in your house, do not forget to fence it all around, especial in the cases of these small dogs which tend to run away playing and may get lost easily.
