Dog Training By Small Breeds

Careful research must be taken when looking into dog training for small breeds.  Whilst training for medium and large breeds can regularly be considered a very easy process, small breeds of dog can often be less accommodating when training.

One of the main reasons why dog training for small breeds is seen as an occasionally difficult task is small dog breeds can be very stubborn.

The Jack Russell breed of dog is a perfect example – extremely loving and caring, they are a very unique and individual dog that very much so have their own personality.  Due to this reason, they enjoy learning new tasks and being trained – but on their own terms, which can make the training process very difficult.

Furthermore, the smaller the dog breed is, the more imposing a human can appear when standing over them, issuing commands.  Although training sometimes has to be carried out with a firm hand, this is defiantly not the method to adopt with small dog breeds and a much calmer and kinder approach should be taken – thought of as more of a treat rather than a process.
