Whenever you need to groom or clean and comb your dog, you may find it quite difficult if you do not have the right tools. Carding, grooming and combing are all jobs a vet can do very well. But what happens when you want to do them yourself? You may find yourself in serious trouble and even at a loss perhaps.
Apart from that, you may even hurt or harm your pet. The results may not be what you want, so therefore, to avoid problems it is best to have the right tools to perform the task.
Scissors, shears and trimmers make great grooming companions. As there are several different types of shears, scissors and trimmers, the best thing to do is to differentiate them in order to know which one is suitable for your needs.
Sizes may be from 6.5 inches, up to 9 inches trimmers in general. There are kits which come with an extensive variety of scissors for the different sizes of dogs and or jobs you may need to do.
Special kits come with different shapes and different sizes. In buying one of these kits you will be saving yourself the separate price you would have to pay for each of them individually.
Safety grooming shears for dogs are also interesting. These shears come with a shorter blade length and they are ideal for small parts that need to be groomed or trimmed, such as ears, chin and chest. They are called safety shears because their particular design makes them safe for the person doing the job. You will not cut yourself, and you will not run the risk of hurting your dog either.
Nevertheless, if you do not feel confident enough to groom your dog, it might be better to take him to the vet directly, instead of harming him.
