Native from France, the Papillon is a definitely refined and elegant breed which stands out for its large ears. These ears, fully covered in hair normally resemble the shape of a butterfly (or ‘papillon’ in French). The Papillon is a small and delicate dog that usually measures 8 to 11 inches tall and 8 to 10 pounds of weight. These dogs are great companions and show a marvelous devotion to their masters. They can live with other animals but require early socialization first.
