Norwegian Elkhound Information
As beautiful as it is, the
Norwegian Elkhound dog is considered to be one thousand years old. It is native from Norway although registries of this type of dog occur in many different regions of Scandinavia. They are muscular and strong dogs similar in some elements to the Siberian Husky. They feature a triangular shaped head with large erected ears and a dense coat which was meant to protect them from the cold. Their temperament is devoted to its family and suspicious of strangers, becoming therefore a great watchdog. They are also really energetic and playful dogs that will require lots of exercise. These dogs occassionally suffer from genetic complications that can be prevented and treated. More
