The Anatolian Shepherd dog is native from Asia Minor, from where it was originally bred as a hard working dog that could protect cattle and sheep. It is a large sized animal with long and strong legs, a square shaped head and large folded ears. The coat is short and soft, becoming more abundant around the neck and on the tail. It is usually of white and brindle colors. The Anatolian is a truly loyal and lovind dog that has a territorial temperament towards strangers. They are also independent and really intelligent dogs that need firm leadership since they are hard to handle. This dog is not recommended for apartments due to its size and exercise needs.
