If you are a truly dog lover you will surely agree with us that there is no such thing as proving our love and care to our dogs. In this way, there are many things we can do to achieve that goal but perhaps one of the most tender, sweet and delightful is to cook to them delicious treats and meals ourselves.

We assure you that this will blow your dog’s mind since for them there is nothing better than homely made food. But apart from this important fact you will also be providing him with the best nutrition because you will control for yourself with which ingredients the meals are made and which are the doses of each of them. Besides, you can always include that special thing that makes your dog go crazy and that only you know of.

Before we start there are a couple of details you will surely find useful and interesting to know. It is central for you to provide your dog with a complete and sensible nutrition to avoid any health complications and to give him good amounts of energy. In this sense, you should include ingredients from every type of food group, unless any of them is contraindicated for your dog.

Remember that chicken, meat, turkey and fish are elementary and that they should be fat free to prevent overweight, cholesterol and diabetes. Milk, cheese, yogurt and eggs are important ingredients as well because they elevate calcium and prevent many diseases. Cereals, flours and rice are the ones that will help your dog’s digestion and strength. Finally, vegetables and fruits will guarantee the needed amounts of vitamins and minerals.

Now that you have this information the combination can be up to you and this makes it really easy to create your own recipes. But if you are not sure about what biscuits to cook for your dog you can follow this example: put in a bowl one cup of your dog’s favorite meat (processed). Add it one or two boiled and processed egg yeasts, one cup of whole wheat flour (you can replace it with rice), half a cup of cheese and one cup of cooked and mashed vegetables (the ones that you prefer).

Mix this preparation with a bit of oil or water until it is well combined. Make little biscuits in the shape you want and cook them in an intermediate oven until they are crispy. This sample recipe can be transformed according to your wishes and preferences but it will serve you as a base to any biscuit recipe. You can also include dried or fresh fruits like nuts, almonds, strawberries, apples and anything you want. Remember to spice these biscuits with low doses of salt and with different seasonings such as oregano, pepper, thyme, basil and any other that will give it a distinctive flavor, and simply enjoy your dog’s happiness and health altogether.
