In the particular case of Dobermans, we can say that these are quite healthy dogs but being aware of their major weaknesses or tendencies is always an important thing to do in order to provide our canine friends with the best attention and care possible.

The Doberman is overall quite a healthy and strong dog breed. These dogs do not suffer from common dog problems such as skin or hair infections that often since they do not require too much grooming. However, the Doberman tends to suffer from certain inherited diseases that come with the genes such as wobbler syndrome, Von Willebrand's disease and some heart disorders. These conditions are prevented when acquiring the puppy and if they come up they should be properly treated so to keep them controlled.

Other common Doberman problems are hip dysplasia, bloat and tendency to become overweight. These problems are less serious than the others but still should receive the proper attention so your Doberman can enjoy a great quality of life no matter what.
