The Doberman is a dog that was originally bred for use as a security dog. With its short, dense coat, Doberman Hair Cuts are very rarely needed if regular grooming takes place.
As Doberman's have two separate coats - a rough feeling outer coat to protect them from different weather conditions and a much softer undercoat - a regular brushing routine is necessary. Whilst the Doberman's coat appears to be short, it is prone to matting and rather than have a drastic Hair cut if not groomed, a daily routine of brushing and trimming should ensure no problems with the coat arise.
As well as regular brushing and trimming, to reduce the need to give a Doberman a full Hair cut, monthly baths should take place. A very mild shampoo, designed specifically for Dobermans, should be used on the Doberman to ensure that their coat, as well as their skin, stays in the best possible condition.
With the exception of health reasons, Doberman Hair Cuts should not generally be needed as their coat is of such a length a Hair cut is very rarely required.
