Breed InfoSimilar to and Indian wolf, this ancient breed of dogs is facing extinction quickly, and although many things are being done about it, they are quickly going into oblibium. Originally from Australia, this breed was not breed on purpose. A mixture of wolves and modern dogs made the breed what it is today. The Dingo dog name comes from the language of an aboriginal tribe that was originally from the area of Sydney. Their original size is rather small by nature they do not exceed the 24.8 in. Their weight is not heavier either, they do not weight more than 52.91 lbs, even less than some Terriers. They usual color of the coat is ginger, but some other mixtures have been known. There are even alpine Dingoes, which are completely white. Although from aboriginal origins, they tend to adapt to humans. They were used for hunting purposes and they were not allowed in many places. Fences were put up in some places in Australia to prevent Dingoes from reaching the population spots. Due to their not being totally domesticated, these dogs are not generally used as companions. Nevertheless, bad publicity has not done much good in this aspect. They are not good around children simply because they are not genetically adapted to that way of life. Obedience training is required, and it is achieved through a kind and warm treatment. Of course, this should not be done after the puppy is too old. This is also another reason that will make it obvious for you to understand that they do not belong in small, crowded places. Dingoes need space and most important of all freedom. Fences are a must to prevent nightly escapes and potential problems among neighbors . As regards exercise, their native, aboriginal origin makes them need a lot of exercise. Otherwise , they will get tremendously bored and start destroying everything you have at home. For this reason, giving them time to exercise is necessary and it can be included as part of their training sessions. As regards health, not much information is available in the case of Dingoes. They do not need excessive care other than the usual one, grooming in these cases is not required compulsory since they do not have a long coat and they are able to care of it themselves. The only particular problem you may have with this type of dog is concerning their teeth. Many products have been designed to prevent these serious illnesses, chews have been designed. Apart from that nothing needs to be of great concern since they are not problematic dogs in that aspect. |
