In regards to the Collies coat, there are two distinct varieties - the smooth coat and the rough coat. Not always easy to distinguish, the rough coated Collies have a beautiful long coat whilst the smooth coated Collies have a similar feeling coat but it is much shorter than its breed relative.
Male Collies can grow up to 26 inches at the withers and weigh approximately 70 pounds, with female Collies generally standing up to 24 inches tall at the withers and weigh 60 pounds.
