The Chinese Crested dog is one of the smaller dog breeds, weighing between 10 to 13 pounds. Whilst there are two breeds of Chinese Crested dogs - the hairless breed and the 'Powder Puff' breed - each grows at the same Chinese Crested Growth rate. This is almost always the same as an average dog and they will generally reach height maturity at 12 months old.
The hairless Chinese Crested breed has only a handful of little areas of hair that grow on their paws and tail, with a large area of long flowing hair on their head. This hair has a steady Growth rate from when the Chinese Crested dog is a puppy throughout their entire life. However, there are a selection of hairless Chinese Crested dogs that have very little hair anywhere on its body, albeit for a small amount on their paws and tail, leaving their human-like skin exposed all over their body.
The 'Powder Puff' breed of Chinese Crested dog has a thick double coat which has a stable Growth rate. Their coat is fluffy and soft and unlike the hairless breed, they have no area on their body that isn't covered by part of their wonderful coat.
