When thinking of a Chihuahua, most people think of three main characteristics - noisy, snappy and clingy. Fortunately, these three points couldn't be further from the truth.
Chihuahua's are generally an extremely friendly dog, loving nothing more than to sit on their owners lap, keeping them warm whilst having an extremely relaxing rub on the stomach. Furthermore, they love to walk with their owners wherever they may go - be it simply a short walk to the kitchen or a long stroll around the park.
Whilst many people consider Chihuahua's to be noisy and snappy, Chihuahua's only tend to make a noise when they are either in danger or come in to contact with a stranger who seems to be posing a threat to either them or their owner. As they are not an extremely adaptable dog and consider their home theirs and theirs only (with the exception of their owner), Chihuahua's may seem noisy at first - but this is only until they become more comfortable with their surroundings and their owner's friends and family.
Negative charactheristics are often associated with Chihuahua's, but once people come to know them, they are warm, loving and extremely comforting pets.
