One of the latest movies presented by Walt Disney Pictures and produced by Pixar Animation Studios is the internationally acclaimed Cars. This fantastic and electrifying movie tells us the story of a bunch of race cars and all their preoccupations, interests, feelings and sensations… those that we as human could never think of. With a Texas reminiscent scenario, action develops and we see our friends in a trip through the deserted valleys to find the meaning of their lives as race cars.

After Toy Story’s big success Pixar finally did another movie in which unanimated things are the characters and the results are clearly visible. Besides, it turns out to be that kids love cars, especially boys, and therefore, this movie is great for all ages. What is best is that this movie counts with collaborations from real car racers such as Michael Schumacher, Darrell Waltrip, and the sportcaster Bob Costas. Finally, this movie is a nice way to learn about cars since there are lots of racing and regular cars portrayed in the story. Among them we can find a Fiat 500, a Le Mans endurance racer, a Buick Regal, a Porsche 911 Carrera, a VW Bus, a Ford Model T, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, a Chrysler Town and Country, a Dodge Dart, a Ferrari F430 (the one that portrays Michael Schumacher), a Ford Fairlane Daytona, a Mitsubishi Eclipse, a Volkswagen “Bug”, a Monster Truck, a Chrysler PT Cruiser and a Ford Puma among lots of others.
 
As it is usual in most of the movies that are made for children, the topics which this film treats are meant to teach the young audience how to deal with situations like competition, greed, failure, stardom, success, patience and many others. There are also the usual issues that we find in any Walt Disney movie related to the family, friends, love, happiness, tolerance and wisdom. This movie has been positively judged by critics and has already won several awards in minor festivals that are however quite significant. It is definitely a must see for every child and it will also be entertaining for girls because the story is not only made for boys. It seeks to entertain the entire family and it surely does that and even more.
