There are many Brussels Griffon Facts to look into when buying or researching a Brussels Griffon, for example, the breed's average size.
The height of a Brussels Griffon is between 7 and 8 inches and whilst their weight varies, depending on the sex, it should generally be between 8 to 10 pounds.
The Brussels Griffons have two types of coat - rough and smooth. The rough Brussels Griffon coat is very dense, has a wiry feel to it and should never look or feel like a wool garment. On the contrary, the smooth Brussels Griffon coat is straight, short, tight and very glossy, showing no signs of a wiry tendency.
A Brussels Griffon's coat is groomed differently to a normal dog breed, using a technique known as stripping. This involves pulling out any dead hair by hand and combing carefully but firmly over the coat. If the coat is left to grow naturally for too long of a period without grooming, it will become soft and woolly looking and unsuitable for show purposes.
The Brussels Griffon breed is affectionate, intelligent, charming and sensitive. Due to it's preference of bonding with their owner, Brussels Griffons do not react well to being left alone for long periods of time.
