Originally from the Brittany region of France, the Brittany breed of dog is one of high intelligence, energy and kindheartedness. These attributes, accompanied with the Brittany Price tag of approximately a comfortable $800 per puppy, make them an excellent choice for a show dogs.
If choosing a Brittany puppy for show, it is best to enquire into the breed history to ensure you do not pay an unrealistic amount. Firstly, the Brittany puppy's mother and father, where possible, should be seen. The ancestral line should be available to view, with any health or medical conditions noted. Likewise, any positive breed traits should also be explained, such as coat colour and behaviour attributes.
Fortunately, the Brittany breed has a distinct lack of any hereditary health conditions. Some joint problems have been known to occur, such as Hip Dysplasia and the occasional issue with the knee, but in general the Brittany is an extremely healthy breed.
As there are no major hereditary health concerns in Brittany puppies, the only other major point that could affect the Price of a puppy is their behaviour. However, it is very uncommon to find a Brittany puppy that isn't affectionate and both willing and eager to learn, making their Price tag more than justifiable.
