Before you go out and purchase a Briard, you should learn as much as you can about them. You may be interested in knowing all about the different Briard Colors that you can choose from when you are looking for your puppy. Briards actually come in several Colors. The color of your puppy will be a good indicator of the color they will retain as an adult, although they may get a few different colored strands as they age.
Briards come in gray, black, and tawny. There are a variety of shades which are still considered tawny. These include everything from a reddish color to a light tan color. Although your Baird may have stray hairs throughout their coat which are gray or black, they will still be considered a tawny color if that is the dominate color.
There are certain standards for Colors in the Baird that are not acceptable in the US, but are perfectly acceptable in Europe. This color is the Blue Baird. This is an interesting fact that the breed standard Colors of your Baird will actually vary depending on the country that you reside in.
