Best Dog Breeds For Kids

When we decide to acquire a dog there are many things that we need to take into account and reflexive attitudes are always best than impulsive ones. In this sense, there is one special thing that as parents you should meditate about: the bond that will exist between your children and the new member of the family. If you are scared of getting a dog because of your children, or if you want to allow them to get in touch with animals but want to take this action in the most responsible way, or even if you want both of your kids and dog to enjoy life together.

Although many dog breeds if socialized at an early age with children and other pets can result in the most loving, tender and protective dogs, many of them are not genetically or socially prepared to fulfill that role and this can lead to dangerous situations. For example, guard or gun dogs such as Rottweiller, Mastiff, Doberman, the Dogo Argentino, Pit Bull and many other dog breeds might get along well with children but you need to watch them all the time and with an extreme sense of care because they can react in aggressive or violent ways even when the situation did not needed that reaction.

These dogs, therefore, are not recommended to have around children and less if it is the case of babies.

Luckily there are many dog breeds that are great with children and that even though will still need human supervision, will give you the guarantee that they will never respond with aggressive or unusual behaviors. Some of these dog breeds are the Labrador Retrievers and the Golden Retrievers.

These dogs are the most popular dog breeds among families and children and they are quite similar to each other. They are deeply playful, fun loving, energetic, affectionate, loyal and love to spend their time with their owners and children. They are usually used in rescuing activities and in therapies for disabled people due to their high levels of patience, tenderness, sweetness and permanent joy.

They are easy going and you will have a hard time trying to catch them in an aggressive or rude behavior. They are definitely one of the best choices for kids and will become really attached to kids as well as children will do with them.

However there are some other dog breeds that are traditionally categorized as suitable for children. Some of them are Beagles, Boxers, Collie, German Shepherd, Pugs, Saint Bernard, Samoyed and many Terriers. Take into consideration these breed’s space needs and comfort because these are primary things to make them happy and maintain them in good and joyous moods. Now have some fun choosing among these breeds, you won’t regret selecting any of them!
