Easily recognizable for its expression, the Basset Hound also displays a unique type of Coat that makes it seem as if the dog was hairless. This Coat is truly short and close fitting the body although the loose skin may normally make it look fluffy and pendant. The Coat of the Basset Hound requires certain level of grooming since this breed is a big shedder. Although this Coat is easy to keep shinny and strong, regularly brushing it to take away all the loose hair is definitely recommendable. This Coat requires little to no trim at all.
